Dakota Koski

Executive Director

What do you like to do in your spare time? I enjoy traveling to Mexico during our cold winters, going to the hunting shack and hunting grouse and deer as well as four wheeling. I have a passion for mentoring. I like going to movies, playing games, and going on adventures with the youth I mentor, and have mentored over the years. I like trying my hand at cooking when I have the time as well. I have many aunts, uncles, and cousins that I spend time with. I host Wilderness Hockey Players every year and with that comes many hockey games at Northwoods Credit Union Area.

What do you bring to REACH?I have 2 degrees, one in Business Management and one in Marketing. This education has helped guide me in running the program. I first started in this program as a mentor, then and board member, prior to becoming the Executive Director. I also sit on the Northwoods Credit Union Board and have gained quite a bit of financial knowledge through this that I can bring back to REACH.

I like being physically active and regularly engage in pilates, fitness classes, and running.

I have a multi-faceted background that includes a M.Ed. in Education from St. Catherine University and a M.Ed. in Youth Development from the University of Minnesota. I work with REACH on mentor training development and implementation, mentor and mentee intake, management, and capacity building; grant writing, school and community service-learning collaborations, and strengthening REACH’s youth leaders’ community of practice.

REACH Promise Fellow

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love doing things outdoors whether that’s fishing, four wheeling, hiking etc. I love cooking and baking, especially for my family. I love spending a lot of time with family and friends. I like spending time with the youth I work with at D&D, summer programs, movie days and other activities. I also love just spending a day inside watching movies, listening to music, reading and drinking coffee.

What do you bring to REACH?

I am the AmeriCorps Promise Fellow for REACH but before this I was one of the founders of the Students Offering Support group. I was also a mentor in the program and helped facilitate many of REACH’s summer activities and SOS conferences. I have also presented with REACH at MACMA which is the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health. I feel that I also bring new ideas, a hard-working attitude, and a young person’s view on things REACH.
