The Parish Family Scholarship, under the auspices of REACH Mentoring Program, is honored to announce a scholarship provided to Carlton County youth who have been involved in the REACH Mentoring Program.
This scholarship is available to all area high school seniors in Carlton County who have either been a mentor or a mentee for REACH Mentoring Program. One student will be chosen each year to receive this scholarship.
One high school senior will receive a $1,000 scholarship award to be used for studies at an accredited trade/ technical, community college, or college/university during the upcoming academic year.
The Parish Family owned and operated a telephone company in the town of Delavan in southern Minnesota. Before managing the Delavan Telephone Company, Ron Parish taught telephone communications and technology at a vocational & community college; where he mentored his students, teaching them the value of a skilled trade. Patricia Parish owned and managed a hair salon in Delavan, where she taught fledgling hair stylists transforming them into artists. Their family values of lifelong learning, hard work, empathy and compassion are undergirded by their advocacy for strengthening small town communities throughout rural Minnesota.
The recipient will be invited to attend lunch with the Parish Family sometime after the award ceremony.
We have the honor of presenting the Parish Family Scholarship to a senior at Cloquet High School. The Parish Family Scholarship recipient for the year 2017 – 2018 is Jayden Schneberger. The REACH Program along with the Parish Family Scholarship Foundation wish Jayden the best with his future endeavors.
